About

Struggling alone is a lonely journey.

Perhaps, like me, you may have struggled with false expectations, brokenness, and disappointment. Having been there, I understand your struggle.

The previous generations had more built-in support from mentors and community elders. With modern technology, isolation and aloneness have increased, leaving many people feeling abandoned and needing others.

You do not have to take this journey alone.

Asking for help does not mean anything is wrong with you. It means you are strong enough and value yourself enough to reach out.

The process begins with your email or phone call to contact me. We will have a no-obligation, confidential 20-minute consultation to determine if we are a suitable match. At that time, we can discuss payment information.

I will ask you to complete an initial online questionnaire, which helps me learn about you. Then, we will discuss your life up until now and your hopes for our work together. You can enter my office (or ZOOM) and see for yourself that I’m a person like you.

When I meet with my clients, I see them and hear them. At the same time, I know there is so much more waiting under the surface to be revealed.

Working together, we will dig deep to let the real you emerge.

Therapy is an opportunity to find that person you lost along the way.

Show up raw and imperfect.

The beautiful diamonds we see in their untouched natural states are dull and unattractive. It takes effort to mine, cut, and shine until the diamond evolves into the beautifully polished gem we see. Like diamonds, the “dirt,” resentment, loss, or fear can cloud our essence.

The therapy room is where you can show up raw and imperfect, trusting we will uncover the beauty beneath.

Therapy with me allows you to lean into my ability to see a bigger vision of you than you see for yourself. I will be your trusted ally.

About

The journey to where I am now involved traveling a winding road. I was always intrigued by people, what influenced them to behave the way they did, and had a deep introspection of the purpose of life in general.

After my youngest of eight children launched to school, I returned to my passion for psychology and began work on my Master’s in Counseling Psychology. Returning to the desk, writing papers, tests, giving presentations, re-organizing my priorities all served to wake up my rusty brain.

While having a career and family has been challenging, it has added immense richness to my life in all areas.

A bit of a geek, I am excited by the innovations in neuroscience, the ability of the brain to change itself, not merely dying cells, as we once thought.

We now focus on validation of the body in the therapy room, the science of mind-body connection, the field of “Positive Psychology,” and so much more! These concepts continue to inspire me to refine and deepen my therapeutic methods using such techniques as EMDR.

My Life Outside of Work

When I am not working, I enjoy time with my family and friends, yoga, learning, trying my hand at gardening, and rejuvenating in nature.

My gardening hobby is a constant inspiration for me of beauty emerging from the soil. Stunning colorful, unique flora emerge from seeds, dirt, and nurturing − reborn after winter dormancy! When most of my plants don’t seem alive, spring comes; suddenly, there are a few green leaves. A short time later, beautiful flowers appear.

The grandness of nature and its immense detail lead me to realize there is a bigger plan for this world.

When we recognize we are part of a bigger plan with purpose, life’s challenges become more manageable.

Here’s My Commitment to You

As a therapist, my purpose is to help you discover what brings meaning to your life and help you validate and celebrate yourself to make life more pleasurable and focused.

I’m genuinely interested in you and what you have to say. I especially enjoy working with individuals to find their voice when they are not sure what they want.

While working together, we will peel back the layers to discover your new potential for growth.
